I am a man that like’s my facts, even if facts arn’t really facts and really just theories, unless we’re talking about maths, which to be honest im rubbish at so i won’t go into any further details.
Anway, enough of the bla bla, i’m here to talk about a subject I am passionate about, nutrition 👨🍳 🍏and in particular nuts🌰 🥜 .
Im sure like me you really enjoy eating nuts, personally my favorites are cashew nuts mmmm tasty 😝. Thing is when I start I just cant stop, especially if I’m drinking a pint of nice cold larger🍺. Good thing is that nuts a really good for you, although they are high in fat so it’s best not to eat more than a hand full in a day.
Not only that but nuts are full of magnesium, vitamin E, fibre and various other nutrients. (9). Oh and don’t forget that they are extremely high in proteins, great if you’re looking to gain a little more muscle mass 💪🏾.
Studies show that nuts can help you lose weight, and may help fight type 2 diabetes and heart disease (10, 11, 12).
My advice would be to snack on nuts between meals, but like I said only a ‘small’ handful per day, and that should help fight against hunger.
Additionally, about 10-15% of the calories in nuts aren’t even absorbed into the body, and some evidence suggests that they can boost metabolism (13). This means that 15% of the calories consumed are waste product, which is great news for those of us that want to lose weight.
Also the fact that nuts boost our metabolism is just out right magnifique meaning by eating nuts we are actually burning more calories !
In one study, almonds were shown to increase weight loss by 62% compared to complex carbohydrates (14).
So cutting down on carbs and replacing snacks with nuts, especially almonds, you will burn more calories, boost your metabolism and help your body fight against type 2 diabetes. Ain’t that something!
